The base of our yachts in Athens is Alimos Marina (Kalamaki). There are all public transport, metro, tram, buses, taxis, ferries and airport link to Athens International Airport.

The Athens Eleftherios Venizelos international airport is about 33km (approx. 20.50 miles) away from Athens centre, 45km (approx. 28 miles) from Piraeus port and 35km (approx. 22 miles) from Alimos marina. (Actual driving time may be greater during heavy traffic times)
There are 3 ways to reach Alimos marina:
The public bus which will take you directly outside the marina (the bus stop is called EDEM). The bus name is X96 and it runs round-the-clock every 20 minutes. Travel time is about 90 minutes (depending on the traffic) and the ticket costs Euro 3.20 and can be purchased outside the airport main hall (you exit the building and go towards the que line for the taxi’s and buses and you will see the ticket counter. Ask the bus driver to alert you to your stop which will be on the opposite side of the street of the marina and happens to be in front of the supermarket). There is some walking involved to get into the marina so be prepared with wheeled luggage!
The metro (subway) that will take you to Syntagma Square (Athens centre). From there, you can get the Tram Line to Alimos marina (EDEM stop). The metro runs every 30 minutes from 05.30 to 00.20 on a daily basis. The ticket costs Euro 6 (with a further discount of Euro 1 for up to 3 people) which also covers the change to the Tram line. So no need to purchase a new ticket. For more information on timetables, you may visit http://www.amel.gr ( the marina entrance is a short walk on the sea side as you exit the tram- walk towards the gas station and this is the extrance to the marina.. There is a kiosk and tavernas for lunch and the supermarket is across the street.)
Taking a taxi is definitely the quickest and easiest way to reach Alimos marina. Just outside the airport’s main hall, there are plenty of taxis waiting. Depending on the traffic, it is approx. a 45-minute drive and it will cost about Euro 40–45 (luggage included).
A pre-arranged transfer at a small extra cost can also be arranged for groups of all sizes. A taxi can accommodate at most 4 people while vans can accommodate any size groups.
